Headcanon History

Far away in a distant galaxy, there was an ice blue planet.

It consisted of ice and rock, and was called Silk Mint. If a normal person came to visit, they'd find it hard to breathe, because the cold kills the nature, and anything had trouble surviving there, due to the low amount of oxygen. The population grew slowly, and it takes three times longer for the Silks and Mints to age, than it does for humans.

It was a planet where strength plays the most important role, because they're hunters. The amount of fur they have indicate the power of the races' natural abilities. Still, the planet is peaceful in its own sense.

The royal family was called Silks, and the rest of the population Mints. The line of succession is decided by strength, and the amount of fur indicates it.

The seventh son - Basco - was considered the weakest, due to his little amount of fur - less than a commoner - and his preference for thinking before acting. His mother refused to acknowledge him, and didn't want him anywhere close to his little sister, who was considered the strongest as well as the first in line. Instead, she gave him to her sister, and because weakness was considered contanious he was punished each time he got close to her.

The only ones who were nice to him was his aunt, and his oldest brother. His other siblings ignored or bullied him, his parents resented him and his younger sister didn't even know he existed.

As time passed, he studied strategy, history, anything about other planets and galaxies. He learnt how to handle a blade from his aunt, and got quite good at it; good enough to be on par with his oldest brother.

When Basco was 32, the Zangyack Empire invaded.

The year the Zangyack appeared, his aunt died, and he lived alone in her place. He grew to dislike big empty spaces during those years.
During the years of the invasions, the oldest daughter and the second son was killed in battle. Basco saw his oldest brother murdered by his third oldest brother, but no one believed him no matter what he said. After the king and queen died, the third son took the throne, since the youngest child was still too young for ruling a planet.

When he was 42, the Zangyack and the current king made an agreement for peace, and as a proof of the Silk Mint's loyalty to the Zangyack, they were given Basco. He accepts being kept as a hostage for the sake of his younger sister, who he still likes even though he doesn't know her.

Since he always liked cooking, he experimented a lot in the kitchen on the Zangyack ship that he was at, and he became an expert at handling spices and exotic ingredients. After all, they mostly ate meat - raw or grilled - on his home planet. He always hid off in the kitchen since he was disliked by the Zangyack soldiers and they didn't have any instructions on how he was to be treated, so they treated him just how they felt like. He mostly wore his humanoid form, because he had been taught to be ashamed of his weak - to his race - armored form.

In a brawl, he stole a gun from a soldier and at the time, a general Damaras had been around and seen the fight. Damaras noted he had talent, since he had never held a gun before, and decided to teach him. Basco had to climb the ranks under much more prejudice than the normal soldiers, and he was sent on infiltration missions.

He took the name "ta Jolokia" just prior his first mission, and he managed to quickly infiltrate and crush places as he was ordered to, during the years that passed. When he was 58, he was sent to infiltrate the Akaki Pirates because AkaRed caused trouble for Zangyack. He didn't like AkaRed and he disliked the fact that he hid his face behind a mask all the time. But he did like to cook for someone who appreciated his food.

A while later, they picked up Marvelous, and during his stay, he learnt about the Ultimate Treasure, and found out that a wish could be granted if you just gathered the treasure. He decided that besides crushing the Akaki Pirates, he was going to get the treasure so he could change his past and stop Zangyack from destroying his planet. He just didn't expect to actually like Marvelous.

When he found out that his planet had been destroyed - 24 years ago and 3 years after he came to Zangyack - he betrayed Zangyack and saved Marvelous from execution.

[Personality]: On the outside, Basco appearas as a cheerful young man with few things troubling him, and most of the time, he actually is almost genuinely cheerful. But he has his troubles just like everyone else. Be they played concern that covers a played impassiveness, covering real concern (which is, granted, very, extremely rare) or that he thinks that you can’t keep something precious if you want something else that is equally precious.

Once a member of the Akaki Pirates, Basco is the complete opposite of his former comrade whos enemy he became. Basco is sly and calculating, but also fun-loving. His choice of fun can border to cruel enjoyment and dark humour at many times, however. He’s not a person to be easily trusted, even if he has an ability to get people to believe in him. Basco’s motto is “In order to gain something, you most give something up.” This even includes his own comrades, as he betrayed his old comrades AkaRed and Marvelous. He chose to betray them to get hold of the Sentai Keys on his own, and with AkaRed’s assumed death, he earned Marvelous’ hatred.

Along with his cheerful attitude comes a teasing nature, which is only a small trace of his true, manupulative personality. He enjoys seeing people squirm in annoyance or embarrassmnent, and lets no opportunities to mess with entertaining people slip out of his grasp. He has a tendency to give nicknames to people that he enjoys being around, no matter if it’s for the sake of their frustrated reactions or a good conversation. For example, he once used the nickname he gave to Marvelous - Mabe-chan - as a fond way of speaking to him, but after Basco’s betrayal, he used it primary to remind Marvelous of how close they once used to be, and to see him hiss like the little cat that he would be if he had been an animal.

Basco's greatest flaws is his arrogance and vanity. Don’t be mistaken, though. He is not vain in the sense of his looks, even if he does take care of his appearance. Of course, if it was needed, he would pretend to be incredibly vain about his appearance, but he is a pirate, after all. His vanity lies in how he cares about his strength, of people being below him, even if it’s not visible through his mask of friendliness.

He is a smug bastard, often bordering to asshole, and he has no qualms in using people to his own advantage. He would do anything to obtain treaures, and what he wants, even betray his friends. He’s got immovable determination and a thirst for knowledge. Part, or all, of the knowledge that he gains, he uses in his trickery acts..

One of his greatest skills, which he does not hesitate to make use of when tricking people into trusting him, is his cooking. He used to be the chef aboard the Galleon, and even the picky-eater Marvelous really liked his food. But he is a man of many talesnts, most of all that which involves trickery. He is an excellent actor, and at many times, he can seem to have a whole different personality than he actually does. For the purpose of his goal, he can even get in harms way, in pretense of protecting someone.

For all his cheerful attitude, however, he knows when to take things seriously. Even if he not always takes fight seriously, as he did not once he was reunited with Marvelous, he knows a seriously dangerous opponent when he sees one. He knows not to raw his weapons on someone who could become a clear threat to him, even if he utterly hates them.

Two of these people that he hates are his former captain AkaRed, and the Zangyack commander Damaras. AkaRed, because he knew that the captain never accepted him, for being the monster in appearance that he is, and for the fact that AkaRed was so affectionate and supportive of Marvelous. For this reason, he also has mixed feelings about Marvelous. He dislikes him for being such a sparkling diamond in AkaRed’s - and basically, everyone he met’s - eyes, but he was still fond of him, because of all the memories and because it really is difficult to really hate Marvelous. Part of him still cares, which was part of the reason why he saved Marvelous, even though that meant that he turned Damars, and the whole Zangyack Empire, into his enemy. As for his reasons to hate Damaras, he disliked him for being so obviously stronger than him, for giving him orders, and for humiliating him, trying to control him.

Taking into consideration the fact that he is dead, and that he will be much aware of it (with having left last words of pride over how Marvelous grew up to Marvelous) he will be more interested in the people than the jewel. Of course, he might pretend that he's actually interested in it, for the sake of messing with people, because he absolutely loves teasing others, he has no plans of leaving a world as interesting as this. And he's alive again, isn't he? Who would want to return to being dead in the first place? Not Basco, that's for sure. But he also won't be mentioning the fact that he is indeed dead, because where 's the fun in that? If people find out that he has no use for the jewel, they'll also know that he only takes its pieces to tease, and not because he actually wants it.

[Abilities / Strengths & Weaknesses]: Armor form (kaijin/monster form) This is Basco’s real, or “true” form. He much prefers his human form, but sometimes, he transforms into his armored form during a fight. It’s a form that has thicker skin and is harder to destroy, after all. In this form his strength is boosted, and he can attack people with just a red and black aura, and deal damage with it. He is also so fast in this form that it seems that everyone else moves in slowmotion, while he doesn’t.

[Limited Powers]: I don't think there needs to be a cap to his powers, since they're not super advanced, just boosted strength, speed and endurance, besides his kaijin shape.

[Other Important Facts]: His weapons are (likely) summoned in this canon. It's like weapons are pulled out of pockets in space, or something like that. I read among the comments at the faq that summoned weapons were alright, so I hope it's alright that I go with that.
As for the trumpet he has available, it's sort of special. It's not only a musical instrument, but an item that he uses to steal the Super Sentai's powers. Using it on the Sentai or Rangers, he'll be able to suck out their powers as seantai/rangers (of course, I won't do this without permission) and this will leave them weak. He won't want to return what powers he steal, but it's not impossible.
He's also got green blood.

Game Summary: Mayfield was a multifandom, domestic horror game with crack woven into it. The basic of it was that people lived in families of four, and they were supposed to get along and play house. On occasions, weird things happened, or dangerous. Sometimes smaller things, sometimes bigger. The town was a 50s American town, and the weird/painful/scary/etc things that happened were to make them play along with the “happy family” game.

How long was your character in Game: A year and four months
History of Character in their Game:
While he was confused at first, he soon got used to living in a town as a human. Sadly, his “daughter” soon vanished, and not long after, so did his “wife”. He was pleased to find that he soon got his gun back, though, since he didn’t want to be unarmed if Marvelous or AkaRed, who he once had betrayed, showed up.

His second month in town he made a friend at the place he had gotten a job, the pub. They found they got along well, and that while they had few similarities, there were enough of them and enough differences to make them get along. This marked Basco gaining a friend for real, for the very first time. The next month, he met Abel, who he found to be a cunfused, but cute priest. This was the second person in Mayfield that he got really attached to as time passed.

When GokaiYellow aka Luka Millfy arrived, he was not surprised to be blamed for her being there. After all, enemies are enemies. But as he he told her, and had to tell the other Gokaigers, including Marvelous, as they dropped by, he was not to blame. Not entertaining for him, he even managed to get sick during his time there, and he got a friendly visit from “knife-boy” Belphegor during the time.

His favorite day of the whole stay had to be the 6th of December, when he got into a snowfight with Abel. It has to be the most relaxed, fun fight that he ever got into. Another day spent around Abel was when, doe to a certain flwer, he got a crush on the priest. He thought that it was likely because of the flower that he was still feeling effects of it after the flowers vanished, but he was actually developing a real crush on him, which was a surprise to even himself.

Durng the body-swap event, he switched places with Greed, and he found it a bit odd, but not too bad. Him and Greed had entertained both each other and themselves while trying to see how long it took for people to figure out that the wrong person was in the body.

During father’s day was the first time snce he betrayed the Red Pirates that he ot along with Marvelous, and actually had a decent conversation with him. They both have bad experiences with fathers, and while Basco didn’t tell his story, he listened to Marvelous’, and even figured out some things about Marvelous’ dad that Marvelous himself didn’t knowö. Basco decided to keep those things to himself, though, for the sake of tingst that would happen later in their own world, and to spare Marvelous any more grief for the time being.

All the while, his feelings grew more the more times he met Abel, and he admitted out loud how cute he found Abel during the time they were locked into the fun-house during a carneval, and Abel was trying to hide behind Basco. Who was a lot shorter than Abel, at that. Not long after the carneval, and after a dinner with Marvelous and Abel that were bound to go southways, he left permanently, but since he was already dead by then in his own world, it’s not like he had much anything going on after that.

How did they change from their canon personality wise (Please explain what caused it to happen?)
Since he didn’t have a hawk-eyed alien watchign his every move in Mayfield, or the threat of a sudden attack from an enemy (either the Gokaigers or the Zangyack) he was able to be a little more relaxed around people than he had been in his world. Not that he hadn’t been relaxed back there, but in Mayfield, he could allow himself to be friendlier, without the prospect of eventually having to betray them.

First of all, he got a friend who wasn’t as heroic and pure as the friend he once had in Marvelous. Rather, Greed is a more antagonistic character, and that made it easy for Basco to get along with him. When he swapped bodies with Greed, he told Alphonse (who also was body-swapped) that he thought that Greed was handsome, which was true and which he wasn’t hesitant to tell. On the other hand, he and Greed had fun really trying to see how long it took for people to figure out that the wrong person was in the body.
Just a little, he managed to patch up with Marvelous. And when I say a little, I mean very little. But they managed to be able to hold normal conversations without getting into fights, and that is an improvement to their relationship.

Then there was the crush he found himself developing towards Abel. He had never before liked someone that way, but he didn’t hate the feeling, even if he felt that he couldn’t tell him since he is a pirate, since he was dead after the second visit back to his original world. But he did enjoy spending time with Abel, after all, so that was another reason that he was hesitant to tell. He didn’t want to fuck up another relationship with someone he cared for, after all. He hadn’t cared as much about Marvelous as he did Abel, sure, but still, he was tired of friendships being torn apart because of bad choices.
How did they change from their canon physically (Please explain what caused it to happen?):
The only changes were things that didn’t last, since the town changed people back (as in bodyswapping, a time when Basco became part angel part demon with tail, wings and gloria). So there are no lasting effects on him, this far.

Powers:

Ninth Level of Hell - Cocytus

This is the deepest level of hell, where the fallen angel Satan himself resides. His wings flap eternally, producing chilling cold winds that freeze the thick ice found in Cocytus. The three faces of Satan, black, red, and yellow, can be seen with mouths gushing bloody foam and eyes forever weeping, as they chew on the three traitors, Judas, Brutus, and Cassius. This place is furthest removed from the source of all light and warmth. Sinners here are frozen deep in the ice, faces out, eyes and mouths frozen shut. Traitors against God, country, family, and benefactors lament their sins in this frigid pit of despair.
